Finals tonight were incredible.City of Hereford bagged a trove of medals.With every finalist taking home at least 1 medal.Morgan swam nearly 2 seconds faster in her 200 IM final showing her courage by focusing on her least favourite stroke to ensure she gave it her all.She then took home a silver medal from the 50 fr having focused on all her processes and swimming faster again in her final.Ella took a very clear plan, and a steely determination into the 50 fr final leading from the front she delivered perfectly on the plan, and was rewarded with a shiny gold.She then backed that up with a fabulous swim in the 100 br, where she put down a gutsy first 50 and held on to claim silver. Her swim was brave and technically she showed just how much her breastroke has developed.Elliot took his reflections from the heats and created a race plan that involved his favourite backend speed, he nailed his start, with a really clean dive and powerful underwaters, and came back hard on the last 50 to take bronze.Last up this evening was Elin in the 100 br, who is currently trying new things with her breastroke technique. Day three heats have been fabulous. Determined racing, bold intent, and edge-of-the-seat finishes kept the atmosphere electric.Morgan P, even gave us a swim off in the 50 held his nerve to take the win. Quality racing under pressure. 💪Across the squad, effort was undeniable. When results didn’t match hopes, swimmers pulled out the learnings and moved forward. Exactly the growth we want to see.A standout moment for Noah in his first long‑course 1500m. The shift from short course is tough in any event, over 1500 it’s a different beast. What a finals session! More fantastic swims on display…full of determination, brave execution, and nail‑biting finishes that had us all on edge of our seats. Not every touch went our way, but the grit and racing spirit were undeniable.In order of swim:Morgan Fiern — took even more time off her PB from the heats, nailed the turn and underwaters, and earned a well‑deserved bronze. Outstanding racing.Ella — exploded off the blocks, crushed her underwaters, and led by over half a second at the 50. Missed the fingertip finish by a whisker, but secured a brilliant silver.Bryn — stepped up and bettered his entry time again. A fab, composed swim showing real consistency.Oscar — delivered a really well‑executed race and dropped nearly a full second for a big PB. Class.Morgan Pugh — raised the level from the heats and added another PB to the Pugh family collection. Welsh National Champs – Day 1A great start to Welsh Nationals. Amazing swims from everyone. Noah set the competitive atmosphere with his 200 free. Megan swam a great race, recovering well form a slip at the start. All swimmers delivered on their focus for their races and reaped the benefits. Final swims for Morgan P, Elin, Oscar, Sam, Joe, Ella, Elliot, Morgan F, Bryn and Tom.
